Qualifying as an ADI does not mean your training stops.
The DVSA requires ADIs to take standards checks during their registration. You will have at least one standards check every four years.
You must also renew your ADI registration every four years if you want to continue working as an Approved Driving Instructor. The DVSA also requires a new DBS check when you renew your registration.
Continuing to develop your teaching skills can also help you stay up to date with changes to driving standards, teaching methods and industry requirements.
If you do not pass Part 3, you still have opportunities to retake the test.
You have a maximum of three attempts at the Part 3 test. If you fail your third attempt, you must stop giving paid-for lessons immediately if you hold a trainee licence. You will then need to pass ADI Parts 1 and 2 again before you can continue with the qualification process.
